Home Groups are modeled after the disciples that gathered around Jesus during his ministry. The groups are led by a carefully chosen facilitator to ensure a welcoming and inclusive space that respects voices with hospitality and grace. Members are encouraged to center their time in this community in their faith, ultimately embodying a transformative exploration of devotion and service in their community and the global collective.
Groups of 12-15 persons meet every other week, from September through May, ordinarily on Sunday evenings for a meal, discussion, and prayer. (Note: We will not meet for one month around Christmas.)
There is no way to sugarcoat it: Home Groups are a commitment, an investment in your faith. Throughout the group experience, group members remain accountable for honoring commitments to the following:
Participation. Generally speaking, if you can’t make 75% of the group meetings, it's better to wait until a group opens that fits your schedule.
Preparation. Nobody’s checking homework but the quality of the experience is wholly dependent on the participation of its members – you will be more likely to participate if you are prepared. To prepare, listen to the sermon. At the end of the day, showing up and being present is key to your journey here.
Honor the Core Values:
Yes! Knowledge of the Bible and a long history of church attendance aren’t prerequisites. Each Home Group gathering is focused on the previous week’s sermon. To prepare, listen to the sermon.
Currently we are only launching bi-weekly, Sunday evening groups. As our Home Group ministry grows, it’s possible new groups will be formed that meet at other times, so stay tuned!
Registration is open from August 1 – August 21. Sign up using our online registration form to let us know you’re coming! After registration closes, you’ll receive group confirmation and next steps from your Home Group facilitator.
Yes! Families are encouraged to come together. We will work with each group to accommodate childcare needs. Use the registration form to let us know the names and ages of your kiddos.
Short answer, no. Home Groups are designed to maximize diversity. However, if both you and your spouse or partner register, we’ll put you in the same group. Same deal goes for your kiddos.
